Benefits of integrating google classroom

  1. Accessibility

Google Classroom can be accessed from any computer via Google Chrome or from any mobile device regardless of platform.  All files uploaded by teachers and students are stored in a Classroom folder on Google Drive. Users can access the Classroom anytime, anywhere. Students no longer have to worry about crashed computers or hungry dogs.

       2. Exposure

The classroom provides students with exposure to an online learning system. Many college and university programs now require students to enroll in at least one online class. Exposure to Google Classroom may help students transition into other learning management systems used in higher education.

      3. Paperless

Teachers and students won’t have excessive amounts of paper to shuffle since Classroom is completely paperless. When teachers upload assignments and assessments to the Classroom, they are simultaneously saved to Drive. Students can complete assignments and assessments directly through Classroom, and their work is also saved to Drive. Students can access missed work due to absences and locate other resources they may need.

  4. Time Saver

The classroom is a huge time saver. With all resources saved in one place and the ability to access the Classroom anywhere, teachers will have more free time to complete other tasks. Since the Classroom can be accessed from a mobile device, teachers and students can participate through their phones or tablets.

      5. Communication

Built-in tools make communicating with students and parents a breeze. Teachers and students can send emails, post to the stream, send private comments on assignments, and provide feedback on work. Teachers have full control over student comments and posts. They can also communicate with parents through individual emails or through Classroom email summaries which include class announcements and due dates.

Communication tool

Explain the Concept on "Communication tool” in your understanding from today presentation?
  • communication tools are application which enables easy communication.some of the examples of communicative tools are; Gmail, chat, Skype, Facebook. communicative tools can be divided into two:
  1.  synchronous-its called as real time in which users must be simultaneously connected.
  2. Asynchronous- not requiring the people communicating to be logged on the internet at the same time

How can we integrate communicative tools in our lessons?
  • video conferencing (synchronous communicative tools) can be used to communicate with learners to solve urgent issues and to accomplish immediate learning. It can be done individually or in a small group. Working individually with a child will make the teacher know a lot more about the child’s strengths and weaknesses. The teacher will know the learning style, preferences and the interest of a child. On the flip side, the teacher interacting with a small group of children will be like guided teaching, where the teacher will be able to let children learn and perform task collaboratively. Not only that, but students can do video conference among themselves to discuss the topic whereby slow learners will also learn from their friends

What are the complex skills developed by the students during knowledge construction process?
  • while using communication tools students can develop their communication skills, typing skills and listening skills

What are the different strategies can be employed in integrating communicative tools?
  • we can use video conferencing to interact with students to solve urgent issues and to accomplish immediate learning. It can be done individually or in a small group. we can also connect with student's parents to inform about their child's performance and to pass information through wechat

cyber bullying

Cyber-bullying is the use of technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person. Online threats and mean, aggressive, or rude texts, tweets, posts, or messages all count. So does posting personal information, pictures, or videos designed to hurt or embarrass someone else.

Online bullying can be particularly damaging and upsetting because it's usually hard to trace. It's also hard to control, and the person being victimized has no idea how many people have seen the messages or posts. Online bullying and harassment can be easier to commit than other acts of bulling because the bully doesn't have to confront his or her target in person.

Sometimes, online bullying, like other kinds of bullying, can lead to serious long-lasting problems. The stress of being in a constant state of upset or fear can lead to problems with mood, energy level, sleep, and appetite.
It's not just the person being bullied who gets hurt. The punishment for cyberbullies can be serious. Some types of cyber bullying may violate school codes or even break anti-discrimination or sexual harassment laws. So a bully may face serious legal trouble.

Specific examples of Cyber bullying:
  • Posting unwanted pictures or messages to social media outlets.
  • Sending harassing text messages
  • Creating fake accounts to impersonate someone else
  • Accessing private files or folders on personal computers
bullying can be very tormenting and cause emotional and psychological distress regardless of its type (traditional and cyber-bullying). Given below are some of the consequences of cyber-bullying:
Depression
The victim will feel anxious and depressed because when something rude or bad is being posted, the victim would feel ashamed and insulted leading to lack of confidence and self-esteem. The victim might also lose interest in carrying out normal stuff and would be overwhelmed with worry and sadness.

Suicide
Nowadays people harass or warn other people through text messages, instant messaging, social media, and other outlets, often making the victim feeling hopeless. Normally after cyber-bullying, people feel isolated as the people around them starts excluding him/her from any activities. This might make them feel disinterested in life and may even begin to feel like the only way to escape the pain is through suicide.

Three things you can do to cut this chance down by 70% instantly are:
  1. Do not open emails from sources you do not know and do not download attachments unless you are expecting an attachment from someone.
  2. Stop downloading free media from downloading software that is not legally approved and therefore regulated.
  3. Purchase and install anti-virus software or download  free anti-virus software.
